Update

Have not been to the doctor - today was her day off, & I thought it was entirely pointless seeing someone else. The problem with doctors is that more than half of their notes are in their heads rather than on the computer, so I/we/another doctor can guess at her reasoning for changing the drug dose as much as we want - doesn't mean we'll be right.

I have spoken to the pharmacist, who's been making up my prescriptions for a decade, and he says that a month is long enough to be sure it's not working. So I will try to get an appointment tomorrow, which means being awake at 8.30am. *Properly* awake, since it'll either involve going there, or being held in a queue on the phone. Last month when I tried to call, I kept falling asleep while in the queue, which was no use for anything.

Well done for contacting the docs today and talking to pharmacist, I like pharmacists!

Fingers crossed you manage 0830 tomorrow and get to see a doc soon.

Fooville Medicine Practicioners, could you hold please?

Having just scheduled an appointment with my doctor (8:45am: "Please call back during our regular office hours. [....] Our regular office hours are Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm..."), I really loathe the lack of self-service scheduling for medical practitioners. It's bad enough that I have to schedule appointments for regular working hours, but I'm not the world's biggest fan of discussing medical things from my desk(*)(**).

If I could take care of it at 9pm (when my wife tells me that I really need to see my doctor and stop reading Wikipedia), life would be better.

(*) I gotta have my calendar in front of me when scheduling things, and if I'm talking on my phone, that means I need a computer.
(**) I work in a lab. My desk is a lab bench. I cannot leave experiments unattended (CCI, 'nuf said), and I pretty much fly this bench solo on Fridays.

Hope you managed to be awake enough for doc at 08h30 (I have outsourced this, because I know if I have to be awake then I'll stay awake all night until about 07h59) and hope you get the meds problem sorted soon. Hope, if you feel up to it, you might enjoy some of my gentler fic, too.
