cold and boots

I have a cold. Frankly, I'm not surprised. Several of my students have had colds for the past couple of weeks. The problem is, the cold virus mutates frequently enough that each school gets its own variant of it, and as I have students from ~12 different schools, I get exposed to all of them. Then yesterday, one of my students came coughing and sneezing like mad, explaining that she'd only been coughing and sneezing for the past 2 hours and she couldn't understand why because she didn't feel ill. Hmmm. So I woke up today feeling giddy and sneezy and sore throat-y, and have spent almost the whole day in bed, asleep. Tomorrow I have no choice but to get up at the crack of dawn and spend 45 minutes on the bus, as I have a student with special needs whose exams start next week, who will be at a serious disadvantage if I cancel the lesson. So I'm hoping this turns out to be merely a 24 hour bug. Bleh.

Other things I have are more exciting. New boots! White patent vegan Doc Martens, which are extremely cool. I'm hoping that the fact they're both white and shiny means that they'll reflect sunlight & heat, and stop my feet overheating in the summer. They're also only 6 hole, rather than 8 hole, which might also make them cooler... I can't get over how small my feet look in them! A photo will probably follow, when I have enough brain to actually take one.

I also have Pokemon Emerald. I still do not have my DS, even though it got shipped on the 12th and EMS is supposed to take 3-4 days. I still need to buy new bras, more shirts, and a whole load of DIY stuff. I hate shopping.

House stuff has been happening, but I can't be bothered to go into the details of the latest annoyances. Maybe later.
