My interests

I am an Official member of the Too Many Interests To Fit in 150 Club. My official lj interests list is a bit random - basically, I've linked to things that I can imagine people clicking on to try to find friends. But it's so incomplete it's not true.

Here is a slightly less incomplete list of my favourites:

Wolves, dogs-that-look-like-wolves, octopi (octopodes?) & squids, rays (the flat fish), baaaaaaby animals, herbivorous dinosaurs. I also like ewoks and people who look like ewoks.

Neil Gaiman, Lois McMaster Bujold, Laurell K. Hamilton, Poppy Z. Brite, Douglas Coupland, Val McDermid, Terry Pratchett, Iain Banks.

The Wildhearts / Silver Ginger 5 / 3 Colours Red / Grand Theft Audio / Honeycrack / The Sugar Plum Fairies
Compulsion / dEUS / Eels / Mega City Four / Pixies / Radiohead
Paradise Lost

Kevin Smith: Clerks / Mallrats / Chasing Amy / Dogma / Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back
Intelligent science fiction: Dark City / Gattaca / Fifth Element / Cube / Pi / Memento
Computer-generated animation: Toy Story 1 & 2 / Monsters Inc / Finding Nemo / The Incredibles / Shrek 1 & 2
Lesbian, gay, bisexual & transgender movies: Bedrooms and Hallways / Better Than Chocolate / The Dinner Party / I Think I Do / In & Out / If These Walls Could Talk 2 / Friends and Family / Gazon Maudit
Poly movies: Splendor / Threesome
Jackie Chan

Anything Chinese & vegan, especially fried tofu & vegetable stirfries.
Pasta & pizza. Noodles.
Fresh bread. Potatoes. Rice. Carbohydrates are my friend!
Most vegetables, especially sweetcorn & carrots. Also fruit juice, although I can rarely be bothered to eat actual fruit. (I like it, it just takes too long).
Nuts: cashews, peanuts, pine nuts, macadamias etc. Nuts taste savoury to me, so I don't much like nuts in sweet things, except macadamias.
Dairy-free ice cream (I like normal ice cream as well, but it doesn't like me).
Really good chocolate, especially Montezuma's.

The evillest herb in existence doesn't have a name in British English. It is coriander leaf, or cilantro. CILANTRO IS ICKY!
I also hate brussels sprouts, aubergine & lemongrass. Don't like dried fruit, except apricots.
I don't much like mushroom, but I'll eat it chopped up & buried in things.

Synthpop / lo-fi / American indie / punk rock / goth / industrial / 80s pop / metal...

My music must have a tune that I can sing along to. It should have guitars or synthesisers, although acapella is also fine. I'm less keen on brass instruments.

In a way, it's easier to list what I don't like: what's currently called "R&B" / ambient freeform jazz (the kind that noodles all over the place but doesn't actually have a tune you can sing along to) / blues / country & western. That's it. Anything else, I'll try.

London, UK. My home.
Brussels, Belgium.
Seattle, WA, USA.
Toronto, Canada.
New York, NY, USA.

Air / Nemesis / Oblivion - Alton Towers, UK. Also The Black Hole (RIP).
Weerwolf/Loup-Garou - Walibi, Belgium
The Rattlesnake - Chessington World of Adventures, UK
Nemesis Inferno / Samurai - Thorpe Park, UK

Video games:
Obsessive: The Sims / Sims 2 / Animal Crossing / Pikmin / Metropolismaker
Rhythm action: Pop'n Music / Frequency / Amplitude / Gitaroo Man / Space Channel 5 / Dance Dance Revolutiion / Donkey Konga
Adventure: Ratchet & Clank / Sly Raccoon / The Legend of Zelda

I am an Adult Fan of Pokemon. I am not ashamed. Pokemon Sapphire & Ruby are among the best role-playing games ever.

I own a Game Boy Advance SP, a Nintendo DS, a GameCube and two Playstation 2s (one PAL, one NTSC). Go figure.
