h-l's fantastic public transport poll thingy!

I had an extremely fun journey today - so fun, that I've decided to share its wonders with you by means of a poll.

I travel every day from Kingston to London Bridge, a journey which should take 50 minutes door-to-door:

  • 5 minutes to walk from home to the station
  • 25 minutes from Kingston to Waterloo
  • 5 minutes to walk from Waterloo to Waterloo East
  • 7 minutes to get from Waterloo East to London Bridge
  • 8 minutes to walk from London Bridge to work.

Today, it took far longer. Can you guess how long?

Poll #11303 The Joys of Public Transport

When I travelled into work this morning, I had a choice of several trains from Waterloo East to London Bridge. Which train do you think arrived first?

The 12:58

The 13:03
5(20.8%)
The 13:08
5(20.8%)
The 13:12
8(33.3%)
The 13:22
5(20.8%)

What time do you think the first train to arrive turned up?

12:58-12.59 (you haven't used public transport in this country, have you?)

3(12.5%)
13:15-13:18 (missing a member of train crew)
14(58.3%)
13:19-13:22 (even Connex aren't THIS bad?)
5(20.8%)

The timetable says that there should be 6 trains from London Bridge to Waterloo East between 16:44 and 17:15. How many do you think actually made it?

0 - none at all!
1(4.2%)
1 - but it was too full to get on.
8(33.3%)
1 1/2 (you may laugh, but Connex have a habit of losing half-trains)
1(4.2%)
2 - the first was too busy so I got the second.
3(12.5%)
3 - the first two were too full so I had to get the third.
10(41.7%)
4 - none of them were in the least bit busy, I just like trainspotting.
1(4.2%)

In total, how long do you think my journey home from work took tonight?

I am overly optimistic - it was crap yesterday, it can't be crap again today?
0(0.0%)
In theory, it should be an easy journey.
1(4.2%)
I like to read whilst travelling, and you can only do this on a train.
