Better living through modern pharmacology.

Guess what? Now I not only have the sinus/chest/who knows what infection of breathing doom, but I have my period as well!!

Currently full of more drugs than it can possibly be safe or sensible to mix all at once. I am the person that medicinal chemists love to hate, i.e. the one who has everything wrong with them and who they have to watch out for. By the end of today I will have taken:
  • Doxycycline 100 mg
  • Prednisolone 30 mg
  • Terbutaline 1.5 mg
  • Fluticasone propionate 0.75 mg
  • Paracetamol 1 g
  • Dihydrocodeine 15 mg
  • Hyoscine-N-butylbromide 20 mg
  • Venlafaxine 225 mg (as extended release)
  • Trazodone 100 mg
  • Carbamazepine 300 mg
  • Folic acid 5 mg (yes, I mean milligrams)
  • Promethazine 25 mg
  • Ursodeoxycholic acid 150 mg
  • Sodium cromoglicate unknown amount (nose spray and eye drops, bottle doesn't list dose size)

In theory all of these drugs are safe to mix at the doses I'm taking, except for codeine/dihydrocodeine and promethazine, the combination of which is supposed to make you so super-stoned that you fall over half-unconscious and write slowed down mellow trip hop. But according to Wikipedia the amount of codeine I take during a bad period/gallstone flare combination is supposed to be enough to get high on by itself, and I have to say that's never happened to me. I am apparently resistant to getting stoned on opiates/opioids, which is probably a good thing considering that addiction runs in my family. Anyway, I could do with something to knock me out a bit because I was up most of last night unable to sleep because of insomnia and INTENSE NEED TO EAT from the prednisolone. I kept waking up ravenously hungry. I've heard that steroid tablets make you put on weight because they give you a desire to eat your own weight in biscuits, but I thought that was only at high doses!
